deadly deer designs was created by interdisciplinary Nuu-chah-nulth/settler artist Danica Charlie in 2022.

She is self-taught, and began beading as a way to reconnect with her Indigenous culture.

What started as a passion project has turned into Danica's way of sharing beautiful, earthy, and soft beaded crafts with her community. She finds joy in meeting other artists and is always striving to learn.

When Danica is not beading, she is also a professional actor and has worked all across Turtle Island. Her favourite shows she's done include theatre for young audiences and Indigenous storytelling.

Danica is lucky to call the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, also known as 'Vancouver', home, and she is a grateful guest of these lands.
